Vaccines for childhood cancer
Therapeutic vaccines in early stage discovery are hoped to cure cancers.
Support For: Dr. Catherine Wu, MD., Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Meet: Dr. Catherine Wu.
Support to this project will help fund the following objectives:
- Scientific discovery efforts: such as, selecting cancer vaccine targets for individual cancers, analyzing the immunogenicity of T-cell and B-cell peptide epitopes and cytokines that enhance immune responses and examining methods for sustaining tumor immunity.
- Preclinical vaccine development and clinical investigation such as, using antigen and cell-based efforts in allogeneic and autologous vaccine strategies for durable, broadly effective, anti-tumor responses.
target discovery
Support for this project will help fund the following objectives:
- Support clinical trials that study t-cell therapy in pediatric population.
- Support initiatives that target to reduce the time between the discovery and the clinic.
- Work with stake holders to get the therapy to the patients, especially children quicker.
T Cell Therapy
Support for this project will help fund the following objectives:
- What are the drivers of normal childhood development?
- How does mutations and gene expressions alter and contribute to cancer?
- What are the pre-natal influences of cancer?
- Identifying causal genetic drivers of Human cancer, especially childhood and infantile cancers.
- Support clinical investigations for anti-cancer response.
